Online Tuition in Mumbai
Support for Mumbai's mix of CBSE, ICSE and Maharashtra State Board schools — matched to the textbook your child actually studies from.
Mumbai has one of India's most competitive academic environments, with strong CBSE and ICSE schools alongside Maharashtra State Board (SSC), and a real expectation that children keep pace from an early age. That pressure is easier to handle with steady, one-on-one support that catches gaps before they show up on a report card, rather than tuition that starts only once a child is already struggling.
A lot of families we work with in Mumbai are managing long commute times and packed schedules, which makes travelling to an in-person tuition centre one more thing to fit in. Online classes remove that entirely, while still matching your child's specific board and textbook. We also teach Kannada for South Indian families in Mumbai who want their children to stay connected to the language.
Why parents choose Vihakids for this
- Matched to CBSE, ICSE and Maharashtra State Board (SSC) coursework
- Steady, early support rather than tuition that starts once a child is already behind
- No commute — classes fit around Mumbai's packed schedules
- Kannada support for South Indian families based in Mumbai
Boards and languages in Mumbai schools
Maharashtra’s state board is the MSBSHSE, and its Class 10 exam is called the SSC. Mumbai runs all three boards at scale — SSC, CBSE and ICSE — and ICSE in particular is well established here, which is why the English paper carries more weight for many Mumbai children than their cousins in other cities.
Marathi is taught as a compulsory language subject in schools across Maharashtra, including CBSE and ICSE ones. We do not teach Marathi, so if that is the subject your child is behind in, a local Marathi tutor is the right choice. Where we help Mumbai families is English, Hindi, Mathematics and Science — and Hindi in particular, which many children here pick up by ear but lose marks on in writing.

Questions parents ask
Do you teach Marathi?
No. Marathi is a compulsory school language subject across Maharashtra, but we teach only English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Kannada — for Marathi you want a local tutor. Telling you that now is better than discovering it in the demo class.
Can you follow the Maharashtra SSC syllabus as well as CBSE and ICSE?
Yes. We teach from the exact textbook your child’s school uses, so SSC, CBSE and ICSE are all fine. For ICSE children in Mumbai we put extra weight on the English papers, which carry more marks in that board than in the others.
What do classes cost?
The first class is a free 30-minute demo, with no payment details taken. Regular classes are a simple monthly fee for 8 or more classes, with no other commitment. The fee depends on the class and the number of subjects, so we share it with you on WhatsApp after the demo — you decide only then.
