Kannada Online Tuition for Classes 1–10

From the Varnamale to confident reading, writing and exam answers — taught by native speakers, with dedicated support for non-native learners.

Whether Kannada is your child's first language at school or a second language they're still building comfort with — including families where Kannada isn't spoken much at home — we start with the Varnamale — the alphabet — and steady reading and writing practice, taught by tutors who speak the language natively.

As the syllabus advances, we move into grammar (vyakarana), comprehension and composition, and — in the board years — poetry, prose and the specific essay and letter-writing formats CBSE, ICSE and Karnataka State Board exams expect.

Why parents choose Vihakids for this

  • Varnamale (alphabet) and reading/writing basics, taught natively
  • Grammar (vyakarana), comprehension and composition
  • Poetry, prose and exam-focused writing practice
  • Support for both first-language and second-language Kannada learners

Questions parents ask

My child does not speak Kannada at home. Can they still learn it?

Yes. Plenty of children learn Kannada at school without speaking it at home. We start from the Varnamale (alphabet), explain in English where needed, and build reading and writing step by step so the child can keep up with the school Kannada textbook.

Which boards do you teach Kannada for?

Karnataka State Board (first and second language), CBSE and ICSE schools that teach Kannada, and children learning Kannada outside school — including Indian families abroad who want their children to read and write the language.

What will my child learn in Kannada classes?

It depends on the class: for younger children, letters (swaragalu and vyanjanagalu), kagunita, simple words and reading aloud; for older children, grammar (vyakarana), comprehension, poems, prose lessons and writing letters and essays in the format school exams expect.

Are there free Kannada practice sheets?

Yes. Our free printable Kannada Varnamale tracing worksheet covers all the vowels and consonants and can be used at home alongside classes.

Can I try a Kannada class before deciding?

Yes. The first class is a free 30-minute demo with a native Kannada-speaking tutor. There is no payment and no commitment.
